I have a new idea that can help us improve Uncyclopedia. The idea that I am thinking of is an "Uncyclobot," a bot that will revert vandalism, deny recognition of vandals, add to the Ban Patrol and QuickVFD, huff crap, and patrol This page does not exist and other high-risk vandalism targets. The bot will need administrative privileges to huff crap, so I may need an admin to test the bot. The bot will need to be written in an interpreted language such as Python or JavaScript, so that it can be quickly changed and so that it can be quickly ported. As for the license, the 2-clause BSD license is preferred, but any free software license can be used. In order to make the bot, we'll need the help of a programmer, preferably an Uncyclopedian who has been on Uncyclopedia for at least 6 months and has upload access to an FTP server. --Starnestommy 01:41, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, but that would take the fun out of the administrators' duties. --Stupcarp for sig.png» >UF|TLK|» 02:12, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
I don't think we know anyone yet who can program us a bot, never mind one as complex as what you are suggesting. And besides, our admins and other users are doing a great job with maintenance. Icons-flag-au.png Sir Cs1987 UOTM. t. c 02:15, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Do you know how much crap I just QVFD'd? Most of it doesn't have a chance of survival, and yet it hasn't been deleted. Just another sign we need the DAotM award. --Starnestommy 02:19, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Are you suggesting we give DAotM to every single admin, simply because there are about 50 crap pages from the last two days that haven't been huffed yet? That's a bit harsh. Icons-flag-au.png Sir Cs1987 UOTM. t. c 02:51, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Not exactly; just the ones who don't huff crap or ban morons. --Starnestommy 02:52, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
But what will we do when it, inevitably, decides to kill all humans? --Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 02:46, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
A JavaScript bot cannot kill humans, only crap articles. --Starnestommy 02:52, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

I have a new idea that can help us improve Uncyclopedia. The idea that I am thinking of is an "Uncyclobot," a robot that will revert vandalism, terminate vandals Arnie-style, rule over Uncyc with an iron fist (literally), and transform into a milk float. The bot will need laser beams for eyes to huff crap, so I may need an admin to test the bot on. The bot will need to be constructed in a lightweight material such as aluminium or aluminum, so that it can jump on people's heads and so that it can rugby tackle repeat offenders and eat their intestines. As for the license, a dog license is preferred, but any free pet license can be used. In order to make the bot, we'll need the help of an evil genius, preferably an IP who has been on Uncyclopedia for less than 6 days and has a really big hammer. --Strange.PNG (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 10:02, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Uncyclopedia used to have a bot like that. His name was CRUSHERBOT, but that never worked out very well. --General Insineratehymn 04:27, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Idea

I have a new idea that can help us improve Uncyclopedia. The idea that I am thinking of is sysop privileges or an "admin", a person will control a computer that will revert vandalism, deny recognition of vandals, ban the people listed at Ban Patrol and delete the stuff posted on QuickVFD, huff pages that they see on recent changes, and make sure This page does not exist does not exist, and punish people who create it on purpose, they will also take out or revert other high-risk vandalism targets - all at the same time as living a normal (well, kinda) life. The "admin" title will have the ability to delete pages (and restore them), ban people (and unban them), protect pages (and unprotect them) they don't need to be tested because they are already good. The admin will need to have some experience with the site, and be a volunteer deemed worthy of the title, it can also be quickly told off by a senior admin so that it can change his/hers ways of dealing with things. It doesn't need a license, because it's not going anywhere. In order to make an admin, users will have to show experience with dealing with the maintenance things they can deal with. So, what do you guys think? —Braydie 17:33, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Yeah... it would be able to detect when a page has been blanked, a page under 1000 bytes has been created or an article in all caps has been created. Exceptions would be made of course, for articles like International Page Blanking Day, and obviously the admins would still have to do lots of work, but maybe less. --officer designate Club symbol.png Lugiatm Club symbol.png MUN NS CM ZM WH
Automated edit summaries in upgrade solves the "able to detect when a page has been blanked" problem. —Braydie 18:16, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
And bots can detect humour? —Braydie 18:26, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
But what will we do when Braydie, inevitably, decides to kill all humans?--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 18:31, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
All humans are already dead. —Braydie 18:52, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Administrators: Use this button if the bot is malfunctioning.

Name

If Braydie's idea was to go through, what would the bot be called? Any suggestions anyone? --officer designate Club symbol.png Lugiatm Club symbol.png MUN NS CM ZM WH 18:46, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

How about, "a joke that some people aren't quite getting"? :P --Strange.PNG (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 18:49, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

What about User:AntiVandalBot?

Well? --L 09:02, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

It's not working. Call tech support. --Starnestommy (TalkContribsFFSWP) 20:39, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
