Forum:Skins Problem
I seem to have come across some sort of bug in the site that insists I use the new "Monaco" skin for the site. I am logged in, my preferences show them still being set to the Uncyclopedia skin. If I attempt to save those settings again, it always adds "useskin=monaco" to the URL, which crashes the site "no such special page exists" (which interestingly uses the old skin on that one and only page).
Could someone please help? I like the old school aesthetic, and the Java links on this version don't work (namely the login one--I had to manually type in the URL). I haven't changed any Java settings lately and it worked this morning. --

- In my experience, nothing is irreversible. There is always a workaround, just have to find it (or go bug Jimbo Wales). --
- Okay, I figure it's a Java issue, since it all reverts to normal if I disable Java in Firefox. Score one for Firefox! (although I may be a bit biased...) The problem is that all Java devices in Uncyc are borked with this method, like auto formatting buttons at the top of edit pages, etc. Maybe there's an extension to customize Java. Anyway, until some fix is developed, we're going to have to use browser workarounds--unless you don't mind

- I had trouble with the login button also. I found a workaround for it though: right click on the login button, copy the web address into your browser, then add at the end of it: &type=login
(Figured this out from visiting Wackypedia, a site that was killed by New Monaco.) Simsilikesims 06:12, April 1, 2011 (UTC)
- That's what I did. I just don't like having to copy and paste. ^_^ As for Java vs. Javascript, I actually thought they were the same thing... Hey, I may speak Japanese, but when it comes to computerspeak, I just wing it. (コンピューター語がわからないよ・・・) 06:32, April 1, 2011 (UTC)
