For example, if you just created a page for Erectile Dysfunction and you want George W. Bush to redirect to it. How do I enter the George W. Bush redirect? (Warning: not an actual example, just a couple names for the hell of it.) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by BrandtSponseller (talk • contribs)
- Go to the George W. Bush page. If it exists as another article, do nothing. Otherwise, enter #Redirect [[Erectile disfunction]]. As with anything else though, redirects should be used sparingly - i.e. mainly for things that already have links pointing to them. Some users build whole catalogues of redirected recapitalisations of words, which even Wikipedia would probably frown at. --Whhhy?Whut?How? *Back from the dead* 18:14, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

- Yes but Mikipedia is already a wiki for people called Mick. -- petrifying Ape (ablate) (Riot Porn) 21:43, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- Ah yes, I remember the bitter war over whether to be inclusive to people called Michael. I believe the site's official by-line now states: "The free encyclopedia which does not take the Michael." On a brighter note, Michaelpedia is doing quite well, with over 10 contributors in 2 languages. --Whhhy?Whut?How? *Back from the dead* 23:51, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- The 2 languanges are English and Simple English (a.k.a. American English)-- petrifying Ape (ablate) (Riot Porn) 21:19, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- I thought Simple English was Engrish. --Sir Starnestommy (Talk • Contribs • CUN • Capt.) 21:49, September 29, 2007
- Simple english is mar-kin inglish, regular english is ferrin' commietalkin' inglish. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 22:35, 29, Sep 2007 22:35, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

- Pointless redirects do have the habit of being annoying. – Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize • writings • SU&W) 03:14 Oct 03, 2007

what about creating a disambiguation page? the article Hans Blix exists, but i'd like Hans Blix to redirect to a disambiguation page listing Hans Blix and also an article i'm working on in userspace, hans blix and the weapons inspectors. should i move Hans Blix to hans blix (toy) or somesuch? -- 23:36, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
- If Hans Blix is a fairly mature page (a cursory viewing would indicate the affirmative), leave Hans Blix where Hans Blix is (that being at Hans Blix) and add your page to the "see also" section at the bottom of the existing Hans Blix page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Modusoperandi (talk • contribs)
