Has anyone looked at the content in Category:Anime, and said: "WTF IS THIS 7th grade humor shit???" Well, I have. I say someone should delete most of the unfeatured/unfunny articles in that category, and then we should remake the articles, but with QUALITY! Amirite? --The Sieger of Dungeons Lord Denza Aetherwing Inventory 23:21, September 5, 2013 (UTC)(seriously, swastikas, othersig.)

Feel free to rewrite the articles in your userspace and nom the old articles on VFD. -- Simsilikesims(♀GUN) Talk here. 23:32, September 5, 2013 (UTC)
We are all about QUALITY. Note Captain gull's recent recasting of the article on ZX Spectrum, relying on a vote at VFD to discard prior authors' work. 23:42
Oops! I beg Shabidoo's forgiveness for appearing to speak on behalf of others without support in Policy. I am all about quality. Officially, the site remains equally open to purveyors of Randumbo, listcruft, and fart jokes. Spıke Ѧ 23:48 5-Sep-13
Answering the first question - yes, I have. I've even tried to clean up some of these in the past - 4kids has been a work (slowly) in progress for a while. I even made myself watch a series of Big-O in an effort to help an author with that. (And gave up. 20 odd episodes to an “it was all a dream” ending made me want to claw my eyes out. Those brain cells could have been used for tequila.)
I've wondered if this is symptomatic of the fan base itself. Most of those I know that are fans of anime are at a 13 year old writing level and/or 13 years old. I have trouble writing about this topic because I really don't care about it. Most Poké-like articles tend to degenerate into discussion of the sexual nature of the characters, or scatalogical scatter-shot.
Going through and nominating 90% of this category for deletion would be a start. We don't actually need an infinite variety of poor quality articles about topics that only a small minority of our readership would be likely to identify with. As for filling the gaps - as soon as we have a good writer who knows the topic but can make it accessible to a broader audience base, he/she has my support.                               Puppy's talk page11:09 08 Sep 2013
