The reason there's a template for protecting vanity is that when the vanity rules came into force, all the articles on schools were deleted, but people wanted recreation requests to go on the deleted article's talk page rather than one like this. I didn't come up with that idea, but it kinda sucked then and it's definitely unnecessary now. Basically just a more informative protected deleted page, or a more specific CVP, with it what it should always have been. • Spang • ☃ • talk • 06:58, 17 Feb 2008
