New CC lisence[edit]

Perhaps we should now use the 3.0 version of the suggested lisence? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.154.77.161 (talk • contribs) 07:54, October 19, 2008

Done! --AStranger195 (talkcontribsguestbook) 03:38, August 7, 2015 (UTC)
Undone. The CC-BY-SA licence that covers most of Wikia does not cover contributions on Uncyclopedia, which is under NC-BY-CC-SA, or something. And I think I mucked up the order there. The previous edit was signed by PuppyOnTheRadio, but he is too lazy to create a signature yet. 03:45 am 07 Aug 2015
CC BY-NC-SA. Campbell v. Acuff-Rose Music 510 U.S. 569 (thanks Jimbo Wales!) established that you could make mad stacks off commercial parody, so we're basically doing them a favor by impoverishing ourselves while mocking people. However if the Supreme Court decides the constitution is no longer dead and is instead, I assume, a zombie, then Sotomayor will impale it with a blade, Roberts will strike with a chainsaw and the 1st amendment will fly off into a pile of oil drums. Clarence Thomas will still be speechless. --Nikau (talk) 12:38, March 7, 2016 (UTC)

Mismatch of licenses[edit]

Anybody else notice the license URL is CC BY-NC-SA 2.0 but the button hyperlinks go to CC BY-NC-SA 3.0? Dark Web, White Hat (talk) 09:55, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

I believe the correct license is 2.0. The button on the lower right of pages is my mistake; I've fixed it. The link to 3.0 on this page was added in 2013, probably also a mistake. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr talkcontribs • 13:34 13 May 2021
Thanks. I went ahead and changed the other button added in that 2013 diff. Dark Web, White Hat (talk) 20:47, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
