UnNews talk:Wikia lays off 600-700

Wikia continually finds new ways to piss me off. Suddenly, my little tirade on UnNews' conventional style seems ridiculous. -- 01:18, Dec. 18, 2010
- Wikia is not to blame. The UnNews style your piece pokes fun at was given the heave-ho in September, in a process I didn't favor; my proposal to extend it to the Uncyclopedia main page--Forum:Vote: Format of RecentUnNews--was approved despite loud apathy, but ChiefjusticeDS said I was safe in implementing it. I never blamed Wikia. I was saying how these new Wikia-based complications are exceedingly more annoying. -- 01:52, Dec. 18, 2010
- Kip, slow it way down for me; I don't think I know what you're talking about. If it's the recent, two-day formatting bug, that seems to have ended. Spıke Ѧ 01:58 18-Dec-10
Yes, it was the bug. It was annoying. So annoying, it makes my hostitily towards little things like extra bold words in UnNews articles months ago seem silly. That's what I'm saying. -- 02:07, Dec. 18, 2010
- Ah, you need a sense of history. You expect to pick up the phone and get a dial tone--wait, you don't "pick up" a phone any more and there are only MP3s. I mean, you expect people from all over the world to be able to connect for free and see the same rendering despite different browsers, different operating systems, and different hardware manufacturers. It isn't perfect but it is wonderful and magical. I still tolerate outages (even, last year, a week-long electricity blackout here in New Hampshire) and only insist that people deal with it in good faith, and Sannse and Wikia appear to have.
- Separately, Washington has just proposed price controls on the transaction fees Visa charges Wal-Mart that are one quarter of the current level--after they just slapped requirements on banks that could spell the end of free checking. Why bring this up? because there are trends in both business and politics that would make a two-day rendering malfunction seem just as trivial. I'm enjoying this while we can. Spıke Ѧ 02:42 18-Dec-10
I very recently won a Visa gift card from Wikia. I suppose that's somewhat relative to what you're rambling about. -- 02:50, Dec. 18, 2010
