I don't know much about the NHS, but maybe that will help me make the article funny, even if I do so out of ignorance. :) Anyway, I'm thinking the NHS suspends war on cancer to fight war with Jeremy Hunt...? Which is not far from the truth! Yes, that is the gist of the article, I would focus their research as a general term, rather than away from cancer, however your idea might work well. Have a go, see how it scans!

Okay, good edits there, some tweaks required just to make it read like a whole article. I've also reshuffled the paragraphs and changed a couple of words, but your edits remain more or less intact. In news articles, the first paragraph is always a summary of the whole article, because after the headline it is the biggest hook to keep the readers interest.

In an UnNews it gives a hint of the joke without telling it. What was missing was the explanation of why patients recover linked to the curing of Jeremy. The first paragraph talks about the cells, the rest talks about fresh doctors. I added a paragraph to fix that.

A trick there is to walk away from the article for a bit then read it with fresh eyes as a whole. It is hard to do as one tends to focus on a paragraph at a time. I think it could be shortened language wise without losing the humor, and perhaps expand the last paragraph. Have a read and edit yourself if you wish but we are not far off. Nice additions, particularly like the use of a metaphor for Tracey, which I have expanded a bit. Had another shuffle, there were bits that were repetitive and the second half was all quotes, so sorted that a bit. Thanks for adding the links and pics.
