UnNews talk:Congress reconvenes, wrestles with national Trump crisis
Real-life Republicans acting hilariously. I am stuck and will just leave it here until someone can supercharge the humor. Spıke 🎙️16:32 7-Sep-15
- Paaahahaha! And what was it you said to me about Mr. Trump becoming passé Spike? America beware, Corbyn is heading for a landslide! I'll take a look at your piece if you like. --EStop (talk) 18:40, September 7, 2015 (UTC)
I don't recall what I said to you, but Trump is notorious as a non-politician, in a field where one must be a politician (avoid pissing off newspeople, officials of neighboring countries, and Senators who may be running against you now but with whom you'll have to deal later). That is the source of his extreme popularity and the reason it cannot last for another full year. And now (see UnNews:Jeb surges as all others shoot selves in feet) he has signed a quintessentially political document, against his own interest and appeasing the most slithering of Republicans. It goes against everything he is supposed to be.
As above, you are welcome to take some licks on this UnNews. Spıke 🎙️18:51 7-Sep-15
- You said pretty much the same as above, i.e. the Trump frenzy will pass and everyone will become sensible again. I'll copy this into my userspace for now as I'll just end up tugging it in a daft direction. I like it by the way, it's dry, but very satirical.--EStop (talk) 19:09, September 7, 2015 (UTC)
I never said either American party was "sensible" to begin with! However, given that someone else likes it, I will put it on the Front Page. Spıke 🎙️19:16 7-Sep-15
- User:EStop/UnNews Sandbox. Just a bit of a play really Spike, don't know if that is any use to you.--EStop (talk) 20:06, September 7, 2015 (UTC)
It points me in some additional directions, though there is a large dollop of Untrue, which does not mix with the type of humor that relies on the True. For example, Trump's surge does not have to do with anything that anyone would call campaigning, and as of last week, a great many of his "staff" were already on the payroll managing his real estate. "Intervention of law" goes in an unknown direction; I was saying that the Republicans will stop short of actual lawmaking, not commit offenses that might require lawmen. I like your addition to my move to other departments that they did not move to other desks, and will say so explicitly. (This is also Untrue, though true at a deeper level: Republicans never actually cause a Reduction In Force.) "Email scandal" is the other party, which this UnNews avoids, and "racism" is a deep hole that it also avoids. Spıke 🎙️21:00 7-Sep-15
