Eicar is a test virus, it is NOT a malicious virus just a DUMMY

This is a joke site or what??

It came up on my virus scanner. I really think that should be deleted. --Joe857 22:45, 25 Aug 2005 (UTC)
I'm with Joe up here. It's not that funny in general purpose, and even the select group of people who think it's funny probably don't think it's as funny as the better articles in here --GeniusDex 22:53, 25 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Symantec says it's a test virus. Still and all, it's not exactly funny. And if it comes up on scans it could cause some confusion. Feel free to VFD it if you'd like. --Rcmurphy KUN 23:08, 25 Aug 2005 (UTC)

We should have a link on the article page that directs to the talk page, and have it at the header, you know, so we dont get too many complaints --Nytrospawn 23:30, 25 Aug 2005 (UTC)

The rest of the page is funny, I just want the retarded "test" virus gone. --Joe857 21:48, 26 Aug 2005 (UTC)

It doesn't make much sense since I've defined it in terms of being badly timed, then completely ignored that definition, but I wanted to keep the Roman thing, then I thought of something else that might be funny. Can anybody reconsile the two? --Carlos the Mean 12:15, 6 Nov 2005 (UTC)

It can be moved, and then linked to at the top, Ill do that now. ~Sir Rangeley Icons-flag-us.png GUN WotM UotM EGA +S (talk) 14:15, 6 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Colonization[edit]

I have no idea where to begin with this one. A lot of it just seems to be randomness. It does have some good ideas, like Dr. Who trading something for a Star Trek plot device, but they don't really seem to fit with the subject matter very well. The only thing that really seems solid to me is the "Properties" section, for which I'm currently gathering the parts to make a virus picture. Any bright ideas? Any ideas at all? - Putz 10 Nov, 2:35am (Central)

My writing style tends towards severe abstraction of fact rather than complete randomness. When I glanced at the article in passing, I decided not to read it, but rather to add the section "Viruses in the Environment" cold. I'll leave it to someone else to either mold what I've written to something more bizarre, or change the tone of the article to pseudo-fact. -- T. (talk) 05:18, 11 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Slash problems[edit]

I see some spurious backslashes in the Known Computer Viruses section. Might there be some open-proxy issues here? (This has occurred elsewhere before; see Talk:Geek.) Pentium5dot1 01:08, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
