Carlb restored this article from deletion today, Change Summary: "No, we do need an article on Newfoundland. If unfunny crap has been added, the solution is to remove the unfunny crap, not just tag {{fix}}, walk away, then delete the entire province, eh?" Spıke 🎙️15:53 3-Aug-19
Newfoundland and Labrador[edit]
Isn't Newfoundland the usual name of the province? Rename this with redirect? Spıke 🎙️14:59 3-Aug-19
- No objection to the move, but an amendment to the Constitution officially changed the name of "Newfoundland" to "Newfoundland and Labrador" on December 6, 2001. Admittedly, it looks odd in certain contexts, such as names of individual towns and outports: either something is on the isle of Newfoundland or it's in Labrador - try to be both at once and the village lands in the sea. Nonetheless, wikipedia:St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador is official even if it makes no sense as "town" isn't in Labrador. Carlb (talk) 15:05, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
Didn't know the history! I'll just create a redirect at Newfoundland (actually, change the existing redirect, which is currently to the most likely page of those that existed when you began). Cheers! Spıke 🎙️15:15 3-Aug-19
