All,

There is a satire section here on a dismal event in Angel baseball history, which I wrote. The truth is it could also have included Lyman Bostock, and I have been thinking of how to add it in. The "too soon" clause for death satire had long run out for these events.

I won't do it now. Certainly, the Angels are not the only professional sports team to have had to deal with tragic, unexpected loss, but I thought it would be appropriate here to remember Angels rookie pitcher Nick Adenhart. He was murdered last night in a car crash. Murdered, because the red-light runner that hit the car he was in was alcohol impaired (not to mention driving with a suspended license for an earlier DUI). The sadness of this is not greater because he was a promising young addition to our lineup, but the visibility of it compels me to remind everyone to never drive while drunk. Please. You know when you are impaired.

Well, we have to allow people the moderate use of alcohol. I drink a beer or wine with dinner now and then. But not driving under the influence. Note to the killer: If you can pay for the drinks, you can pay for a cab. They even have cabs in Orange County, you asshole. I wonder if the bar should bear some resposnibility for letting him drive away knowing how much he had. I know that's a can of worms, but... Dammit, GT. You're on every single article about southern California. I see through your ruse. You're trying to freak me out! Well it's working! And Dex, don't be against drugs and alcohol. Be against the brain-dead idiots who think it's okay to use them and then try to do anything more complicated than tying their shoelaces while under their effects. Someone who sits on his couch all day while high is no more a threat to society than someone who sat on their couch all day sober. The guys who go out and drive drunk, they're probably just as much of a threat while they're sober.
