Ok Sycamore I was aware of the name but not much regards the background and the 'Doctrine of Lapse', a crafty British way of acquiring lands because a ruler was deemed unfit to rule or had forgotten to leave a will (Who Do You Think You Want To Be!). I have read about the 'Indian Mutiny' (British terminology, India calls it something else) and how savagely it was put down - strapping men to cannons and then firing the muzzles straight into their bodies. So not sure what angle you want to go with this one. --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 11:03, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
- I'd like to parody this Doctrine of lapse especially, but also the idea of looking down on people and trying to control their lives for a percieved greater good - especially here where thing indutrial projects were built over holy sites for Indians etc. I would just go with what ever angle you feel like and we could converge as things go along:)--Sycamore (Talk) 11:09, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
- I'll add anything that I think will help this along. It does remind me of something that for many years if you died intestate in the 'Duchy of Lancashire', the monies went direct to the crown which turned out to be the Queen Mother! I'll keep on this one since I am still working with Zarbag on the History of Great Britain! --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 11:24, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
- Cool, I'll plod along and it should be an edumacational experience for me;)--Sycamore (Talk) 08:46, September 4, 2010 (UTC)
- I see you have been working on this. A couple of queries: Lord Darth Sidous reference. Not sure it intergrates with the article, though I can see what you are getting at. Just leave it to the Dark Side of Imperialism perhaps without saying Sidous was the tutor? Also the Gandhi quote unless Dalhousie was being a clairvoyant here. I'll have another skim through. Just my observations. --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 23:04, September 5, 2010 (UTC)

- Tweaking wee bits here and there, i agree with the sidious bit, but I'd like the keep the Fuck off Gandhi bit;)--Sycamore (Talk) 15:52, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
- Ok added a diary quote from Lady Susan as regards her husband's penis. That's it I think!--RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 10:03, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
- Somehow Lady Susan seems like a bit of a milf - I probably need to get out an find a bit of a munter girl to abate these thoughts. Also - are you a Lib-Dem in real life?--Sycamore (Talk) 17:23, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
- Don't know what a 'munter girl' is but in the context of the sentence, I think I can guess. Regards the Lib Dems, no not one of them or a Tory either. As you are up in Scotland, are you a Scots Nat?? --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 17:36, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
- It means an ugly girl who should be 'easier', though I would probably just say munter alone in the context of a sentence. No I'm not a Nat though I agree with some of their policies.--Sycamore (Talk) 07:40, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
- You say "munter" we say "hoggett". Etymology of munter ? smelling like munster cheese or evocative of the sturdy two legged heifers of the province of Munster?. The porter at my workplace speaks of a munter who attended the local dance hall for 2 decades -she was referred to as the fire extinguisher as she favoured red and black in her choice of boots, mini and crop top.Perhaps she was reliable at multiple fire type quelling. Funny article -reminds me of Flashman and also the" all part of growing up and being British" mindset. -- ⦿⨦⨀ Phrage (talk) 02:13, November 16, 2010 (UTC)
