Sir or madam:

1. In the context, it is an island. The context (the text just following) is: "you can't move your armies off alone"--that is, without transport ships. Do you deny this? Is it possible for the UK to attack any other country in the game of Diplomacy merely by a long march?
2. Following your link to Wikipedia, the first paragraph has: "The largest British island is Great Britain...the ninth largest island in the world."
3. To return to the only valid topic of this page: Does your nit affect the humor of the page? Would the page be funnier if it wasted words clarifying that Great Britain (which is played in the game as United Kingdom) is the island?
