Talk:Costa Rica
re doing large chunks[edit]
Hi, I visited Costa Rica a little under a year ago, I like some of what has been done with the page, however I have waded in as I think that prevoius writers have not done justice to the place, i've put a construction template up to discourege the warning below; if however you disagree with what I'm doing please contact me on my talk page, so there won't massive reverting and all my editing destroyed Ta,--

Build![edit]
Add something, replace with better jokes, or leave enough alone. Deleting won't do. Otherwise, the article will continue being reverted. CubOfJudahsLion 00:31, 3 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Realistic[edit]
I can't believe that this article is even more realistic than Wikipedia
CAFTA[edit]
Remove the CAFTA/TLC discussion, it is not funny, it is only biased, specifically this part:
After many years of political debate, it has been decided that the country's future will be decided in a TLC Match (Table-Ladders-Chairs) between Oscar Arias and Friends VS. The People of Costa Rica. Unfortunately, being the morons they have always been, the people saw how Oscar won the match with help from other governments, multi-national companies, and his own maffia friends, with this result the rest of Costa Ricans were forced to be anal raped by USA.
Editing in September, 2009[edit]
I brushed up the section on "Security" including some new information such as that cops mostly work for tips, and added several subsections to "Economy." Also deleted the subsection "The Big Seduction," a paragraph added anonymously last December, which combined history-of-the-future, off-color remarks, and the trite use of enormous numbers--the big three of bad writing--to babble about nothing. And deleted the final paragraph of "Culture" that calls Ticos monkeys because they didn't warm to a tourist's subtle, sarcastic humor. Some of the stereotypes of tourists are still in, but I've tried to substitute humor for name-calling.
Am hesitant to go further, but the theme of the article (Hell and Satan) is a throwaway theme that could be used on anywhere, and takes the place of really clever satire on what's really happening in Costa Rica, on which I am no expert.
Okay, it is a week later, there has been no comment here, I have learned a little about the place, and I'm going to fix the article. Spıke Ѧ 12:51, October 4, 2009 (UTC)

We have had a new user edit this article--within minutes of creating an Uncyclopedia account. She has evidently been robbed while vacationing in Costa Rica and essentially warns tourists (at the end of the Security section) to stay away. No idea whether she knows this is a humor site, or whether she cares. I have written to her to try to get her to make this funny. Failing that, I will delete it in about a week. 2010 Long Road from Canada to Costa Rica[edit]
After living here for almost five years my family and I have received the end of the barrel when it comes to problems.
I have added various things related to the events that happened to my family all are true.
I would like to also note that my identity will be kept secret so that no one that reads (you know who you are)try me or my family for anything. May you all be entertained by our misfortune as it is my intent and looking back on the shit we went through we laugh at it our selves.
- My reaction is the same as to the previous discussion, except that I cannot get in touch with this author, as he writes under an IP. I watched these changes being made, and they are unfunny and depressing. The article already made the point that the police and judiciary are not exactly on the level. Uncyclopedia is not a place to document one's dissatisfaction with Costa Rica, and in fact I doubt that humor would be this author's first priority if he refined the contribution.
