Pole

The legendary Lech Wałęsa was a pole, as shown by those funny marks in his name.

A pole can mean one of the following things:

  • A citizen or native of Poland; a Polack (pictured). One should take care not to call them pollocks, which sounds fishy.
  • The Polish language that they speak.
  • One of two extreme places on Planet Earth, the North Pole and South Pole. There are no East and West Poles. There are actually two North and South ones, if you count the spots to which magnets point in order to throw you off.
  • One of those thingies that keeps a tent upright.
  • When you are camping out with the boys and it's morning, one of those thingies that seems it could keep the tent upright.
