You do not have a tank.
You are in Oprah's compound, in the Hall of Blankness. There is nothing here but you in a mech and the grue you want to squish. The afforementioned grue looks mad.
The mecha does not have a foot. The grue is getting annoyed.
The cannon jammed up before firing. The grue comes into your mech, points out the button labeled "Kill Grue", and eats you before you could press it or even have a chance to scream.
