I'm going to sound like a noob for the next seven seconds: How do I create a template? And if you don't like that question, then how do I create userboxes for my page? * Flumpa Quotes.PNG 23:42, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Find a template that's similarly formatted to what you want (Template:Pants, copy the text from it to a subpage of your userpage (User:Flumpa/Template:Pants), edit it, then stop and QVFD it. Templates, in general, suck. Mostly, they show that you like a page just enough to not put any thought in to your edits. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 23:57, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
EDIT CONFLICT >:( -- If you want, just put some code in a userspace subpage (I use User:TheLedBalloon/VFH BOX, for example). Then, to put that on a page, just use brackets; {{User:TheLedBalloon/VFH BOX}} gets me this:
Shamu.JPG The Led Balloon has awarded you a piece of Floridian swampland. They're goin' quick!

To actually make it, well... Some folks know fancy coding skills, but I like to just pick out a template I like, and nick the code. I change around the colors a bit, and change the picture, if there is one. Userboxes, though, can be made much easier. There's a template in place already, which works a bit like this: {{Userbox|gold|white|Tpt|This user plays '''[[trumpet]]''', because he enjoys being the loudest.}}. That code will get you this:
TptThis user plays trumpet, because he enjoys being the loudest.

There are already a bunch of templates here, but don't bother putting them on pages that aren't yours. In general, they're way overused. Hope this helps, - Don Leddy the Crunch Fedora.JPG (Nyah, see, nyah!) 00:02, May 5
I confess, I was more interested in the userboxes than the templates. Thanks for the help. * Flumpa Quotes.PNG 00:04, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

An even quicker question

What do you add to the userbox code to get it on the right side of the page? :C * Flumpa Quotes.PNG 00:07, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

You have to tilt your monitor over. You may need to shake it, userboxes tend to stick a bit. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 00:44, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Copy someone else's code and use that, it's the easiest way to do everything. Spang talk 00:49, 05 May 2008
