... started an article and wrote at least 2500 words or so and then attempted to complete it after neglecting it for several months? I can't quite remember what made me tick in the first place with this article, or what made me think I was sober on a day to day basis. Or whatever.
It's like going back to nursery again 10 or 15 years later to attempt to relearn the alphabet or something. That was a strange experience. --

- I can vouch for that last one... -- 19:38, February 4, 2010 (UTC)
- Sometimes. If you can relocate the spark that got you started on it in the first place, the addition experience you've gathered since you gave up on it can help finish it. Other times, it's just shit, which is why you gave up on it, and you only kept it because you were hoping that shit ages well. It doesn't. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 02:21, January 31, 2010 (UTC)
- The shit in question is this article, born of an August morn. I must've had an idea for the stuff in the middle of it because even the links to the next following parts of the plot are established. Although all I can really see in it at the moment is the introduction that brings in as many allusions to the WWII counterpart and the plethora of one liners on the side. I've forgotten how I arrived at the decision to include anything else. The title alludes more to a first-person story than a full out scene involving as many characters as possible, which gives me some memories, but all the faces on pictures have faded away somewhat. -- 03:08, January 31, 2010 (UTC)
- This baby took me two years to complete. ~ 14:15, February 1, 2010 (UTC)

- I have about 20 articles in my userspace that are between 5% and 60% done, but, no, I've never gone back and finished any of them. 21:05, February 1, 2010 (UTC)
- I went into this thread thinking that the question would be end "really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like," but since it didn't, I believe I had a similar experience with History of New England. And much like Hyperbole, I've got a whole bunch of articles hanging around in userspace that I hope to complete after I get my hands on some free time. - P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon (Tick Tock) (Contribs) 22:09, Feb 1
- Being serious for a second... I bet a lot of the above articles are actually good enough to be moved into mainspace and have a {{Idea}} slapped on em. Just saying... MrN Fork you! 22:11, Feb 1
- What? And deprive us of our independent right to produce our OWN material into a free-to-edit Wiki WITHOUT being sullied by the extraneous application of ideas generated in the mind of the poor? Fuck me! --
- Well I always just hit the revert button whenever anyone edits one of my articles... :D MrN Fork you! 22:21, Feb 1
- Ever get the feeling that your carefully written and original humour, cleansed of cheap, crappy references to homosexuals and Americans is going to be less funnier to an audience that would give Uncyc a larger status, than an edit that incorporates "Hitlers a fag" lines, Chuck Norris jokes, Taylor Swift pictures and almost every other meme stuffed up Satan's arse? -- 22:34, February 1, 2010 (UTC)

- Hey, if someone wants to check them out, I'm fine with it. The ones I can think of off the top of my head are, in order from least complete to most complete, are User:TheLedBalloon/UnBooks, User:TheLedBalloon/Hawthorne, User:TheLedBalloon/Script, User:TheLedBalloon/Creepypasta, User:TheLedBalloon/PMRC, User:TheLedBalloon/Eye of the Tiger (in which Cajek played a part in writing), and User:TheLedBalloon/Deus ex machina. Eye of the Tiger and PMRC I think have the most potential right now, once that script gets finished I think it's gonna be good, and that book could go places if I do it right as well. - P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon (Tick Tock) (Contribs) 22:47, Feb 1
- Well, my articles are like that when written! Course if anyone added something which was really pants I would use that revert button again. Also, you can use this thing called the "Revision history" to go back to whatever version you like, whenever it was written, whenever you like. Anyone can like... Edit. :D If you don't get anything good added then fine. If you do then bonus. Maybe someone else might have the motivation to get that stuck article going again, or better still give you a new idea or direction to finish it. If it's not got {{Idea}} or similar on it and it's not in the mainspace chances are it's not going to be found very often. MrN Fork you! 22:50, Feb 1
- This feels like speaking into a special, status-imbuing microphone that types down whatever you say onto paper and feeds it into a shredder. :( -- 23:00, February 1, 2010 (UTC)

- No, 'coz it usually gets stuck in my brains more often than on the computer... most of my bizarre ideas come to me while squeezing off a ghoul, waiting for dinner, etc. while I had to wait with nary a notebook or a notepad to scribble into oblivion --Sakai4eva 03:49, February 4, 2010 (UTC)
