When I tried logging into my account "Dorkadorkreece" none of my passwords were working so I sent a new password email. Unfortunately, it was probably sent to an email that no longer exists so now I'm permanently locked out of my old username. Is there another way to get it back? Otherwise it's just going to hang around in the abyss being unused.

Ok so now I'm to believe that all old usernames have the word "un" in front of them and I just need to login with that? But the page says that it doesn't recognize this username and I've already sent a change password email to a nonexistent email address. What do I do?--199.16.252.33 14:04, April 16, 2016 (UTC)

There was a database merge last year and any user that had the same username as a user on another wiki was renamed with 'Un' in front of it. You can report the problem at Special:Contact. You may have to do a username change altogether. If that is the case you can request it by going to User talk:Sannse.  EStop ⚓ 15:16, April 16, 2016 (UTC)

Yes, if you used as your failsafe "an email that no longer exists," there is probably no way you can convince anyone you were the earlier user. It's best to proceed under the new account Unreece that you created today. This time write down your password and inform the system if you should change email addresses so it has somewhere to mail you a spare key. Spıke 🎙️23:19 16-Apr-16

PS--At-a-Glance shows that there are "180 Active Users (0.002% of 8,879,363 users)." In other words, there are millions of abandoned user names "hanging around in the abyss." Don't worry about that! Spıke 🎙️03:02 17-Apr-16
