Ok, here's the deal - I'm going to try to make this the first-stop for Oscar Wilde quotes that are in articles. Please help out by using the ((Oscar)) template if you add a quote to an article.
I would like to move away from the hideous beast that is Making up Oscar Wilde quotes, as it's turning into a cesspool. If we can move quotes from there into pages using the ((Oscar)) template, we will give OW a much more impressive status on Uncyclopedia. So, if you are bored, head over to Making up Oscar Wilde quotes, find a good quote, match it to a page in Uncyclopedia and add it in using the Oscar template.
For example:
{{Oscar|Thank you for cleaning up my cesspool of quotes.}}
will produce:
"Thank you for cleaning up my cesspool of quotes." ~ Oscar Wilde

- Ok, it seems that all the existing pages containing the (Oscar) template need to re-saved for the wiki to update the category information. I'm not going through all that trouble, so I'm giving it a week or two to see how many get updated for other reasons. At that time, I'll go through and clean up the remaining. Unless someone else beats me to it. --Famine 20:52, 19 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I still don't see why the quotes need to be removed from the OW quotes page... I like having a repository. that way, we don't have to track them down. I like this idea of yours, but I also like having them listed in one place rather than having to go to each individual place. --PantsMacKenzie 20:53, 19 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- The logic is that I'm branding that as the false quote repository, and this as the real one. Being uncyclopedia, I see no reason for internal consistency to be important. Agreed - I'll just cull the really bad ones there, and leave the rest. Some have already been yanked out, and I doubt I'll replace them - it's not as if we're suffering for quotes there. But fell free to add back in any that I've already "moved" to other pages. I'll leave them there from now on. --Famine 22:33, 19 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Well, I went one up - I started making a Wilde like Undictionary. Because you are right - we need all the quotes accessible in one place. And it's way more professional looking than what I was doing here. So this may go the way of the dodo in the near future. --Famine 00:23, 21 Jul 2005 (UTC)
