Acronym[edit]

BBS

  1. an ancient form of interhuman communication, whose invention is traditionally attributed by Western Civilization to Moses, but which was in fact used by the Sumerians and other early civilizations to troll mailing lists, read erotic stories, play door games and MUDs and flirt with little girls who were actually old men long before the invention of the Internet by Al Gore.
  2. an abbreviation of "be back soon," which is itself an abbreviation of "I believe it is of vital importance that you know that I am stepping away from the computer for five minutes."
