How do you get to/do step 3?
Um, it seems pretty clear to me. Well, now that I rewrote it in english. And you sign and stamp your comments on talk pages using the little sig button second from the right when editing, or by typing out --~~~~. 00:49, 6 Sep 2005 (UTC)
And now that I see your edits to the page, I'm guessing you figured it out. Any other clarity issues, post here about them. 00:51, 6 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- When updating an old Oscar Wilde quote, (for instance "Dave Chapelle" or "Warsaw") it never updates on the Oscar Wilde letter/quote page. I was trying to fix the Warsaw one but it never updated itself in the letter list. Why does it do this and how can you fix it? --MonkeyGem 10:20, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- This is a buggish thing with the base wiki code. Basically, if a page has a template on it, (the stuff in the {{ }} tags) it only revisits that template if you make a change to the page and re-save it. So if you change a template, pages with that template keep the old text until someone makes an edit to every page containing that template.
- To fix this, you can edit something on the page and save it, (and I've only had minor luck with adding a blank line) or add a comment to the page.
- <!-- this is the code for a comment. -->
- Comments don't show up, and thus don't change the look of the page, but count as a change and the page will refresh all templates on it. I usually use the comment to note why I'm making it. -- 14:53, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
