Uncyclopedia talk:Ignore all rules

I think that Uncyclopedia:Consensus should be noted as being non-ignorable as well. Both rules are adopted from Wikipedia and are an inherent part of the wiki process. This section from the page on Wikipedia explaining what "ignore all rules" means notes that consensus is non-ignorable:
"Rules derive their power to compel, not from being written down on a page labeled "guideline" or "policy", but from being a reflection of the shared opinions and practices of a great many editors." (Wikipedia:What "Ignore all rules" means)
Perhaps we too should incorporate a page explaining what this rule means and what its obvious exceptions are? --Hotadmin4u69 [TALK] 23:13, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Uncyclopedia is not Wikipedia. --Algorithm 23:15, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, but we are a wiki, and consensus is part of the wiki process. It cannot be ignored. --Hotadmin4u69 [TALK] 23:29, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'd say consensus could be ignored if the result was a) funny, and b) didn't involve being a dick, and it's pretty hard to get consensus if either of those aren't fulfilled. So I think that addition is a bit redundant. • Spang • ☃ • talk • 11:36, 12 Aug 2007
- You're so persuasive, Spang. --Hotadmin4u69 [TALK] 23:43, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
