Is that true about bats?? I'm devastated! Keep up the god work, guys --Ning Vrejnyi 11:47, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Um, the 1Ki (& 2Ch) math actually works. Most people fail to take into account the "brim to brim" and "hand breadth thick" brim. Inner brim to inner brim + (2 x hand breadth) = total diameter. I'm just sayin'. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 22:11, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
- Wups. That should've been "10 cubits - (2 x hand breadth) X pi = (inner) circumference". My bad. You got my gist, anyway. I want it back! Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 22:49, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
- i don't think "compass it round about" means measure the inside circumference. but i haven't been to church since easter, so don't go by me. 22:31, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
- Well, you know, the whole thing is silly. The Bible says the sea is "round." Does that necessarily make it a perfect circle? I wouldn't think so. And who's measuring this thing, anyway? Did someone go right around the edge with one of those little rolling measuring devices? Yeah... silly.
- are you saying God himself cannot create a perfect circle? blasphemy! heresy!...witch! he's a witch! 22:42, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
- Circles are Satan's way of making us think about boobies. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 22:47, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

- You're taking it too literally. As far as massaging the text to indicate what it means rather than what it says, this is an easy fix (compared to, say, the very correct but very wrong Ussher chronology). You know what happens when you take the Bible literally, don't you? That's right. Scoliosis. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 22:47, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
