Template:Deprecated template/doc

Description

This notifies that use of a template should be avoided for practical reasons. For example, {{TOChide}} is a pointless wrapper for __NOTOC__, but it can't be deleted without affecting how certain featured articles looked in the past.

Contrast this with {{Dammed Template}}, which notifies that use of the template is prohibited for policy reasons.

Usage

Almost the same as wikipedia:Template:Deprecated template, except categorization is disabled.

Synopsis:

• {{Deprecated template|old}}
• {{Deprecated template|old|new}}
• {{Deprecated template|old|new|<nowiki>parameter=foo</nowiki>}}
• {{Deprecated template|old|new|<nowiki>parameter=foo</nowiki>|note=note}}

old and new should not include the namespace. Wikipedia has examples.
