What about negative counting systems? You know. Those asshole numbers who only bring you down? They work like so:

Positive numbers only touch negative numbers.
Negative numbers only touch positive numbers.
The one's digit is positive

Thus, 21 in negative decimal, when changed to decimal is -19. 190 becomes 10, and so on. So, you know, it's only used by dicks who think they're better than you.

I had to avoid some of the more unusual number base systems to maintain accessible humour. I really wanted to include Quater-imaginary base and Base 27 in the article, but only complete math nerds would have understood it or enjoyed it.                               Puppy's talk page06:07 13 Apr 2013

The version of the quaternary system towards the top seems similar to the troll counting system in some of the early Discworld books. I wonder if this is on purpose. --Whyhow (talk) 05:31, November 11, 2013 (UTC)

I subconsciously used Pratchett's troll system. I knew that I'd heard the joke before, but couldn't remember when I regurgitated it where it came from. When I re-read the book it came from (Moving pictures?) I realised how closely I had kept to his version, but it works so well here - and the article had been featured - that I didn't want to change it. Besides, it lets me segue to the boy and the dyke parallel, and I really like that one.                               Puppy's talk page07:22 11 Nov 2013

599,000[edit]

Actually, the roman numerals for 599,000 are:

That may not be as funny. The previous edit was by PuppyOnTheRadio (Talk). 21:04, December 21, 2016 (UTC)

Base 0[edit]

Why not change Base 0 to Base ? 108.65.83.141
