Nonsense. He's often the villain but that's because he's so good at playing villains. He also plays benevolent characters such as his character in Love Actually who while flawed could hardly be described as evil. He also plays a good character in that film Snowcake or whatever it's called. As to always being the same villain, I'll admit he has his own style which he brings to all of his characters but his villains all differ in terms of personality. Usually he plays quite icy, calm characters but the Sheriff of Nottingham is extremely fiery and angry. Then look at Snape, very quiet and withdrawn. Hans Gruber on the other hand loves the sound of his own voice and being the centre of attention. Finally Judge Turpin whilst being as dry and cynical Rickman's usual villains has a sentimental side as shown by his affection (horribly twisted and misguided though it may be) for Johanna. Also rather than being motivated by power like most of Rickman's villains (with the exception of Snape) is driven more by lust though like all of Rickman's villains he is still very powerful. --Narcissus Black 18:37, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
