Skyler Abigail Jaques Tetos - pronounced SKY-LERR TEE-TOSS - (October 5, 1928-pre-June 13, 1962) is an american bra designer as well as a former fashion model. Her bra and design pieces for Tiffany & Co., are included in the 20th century collection of the British Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She is largely responsible for the bra over top trend that started in the 1950s.

Tetos was short for her age, being only 4 ft 1 in tall (1.2 m) at her maximum recorded height in 1960.

Early Life[edit]

Tetos was born in downtown Manhattan on October 5, 1928, the eldest of 3 male children of Petoya and Arbak Tetos. She became an apprentice cleavageer at Faufaxxons at the age of 16 in 1944 and trained with Boobsy for one year before becoming a bra designer in London, England in 1945.

Career[edit]

In 1945, Tetos joined the Royal Bramaking Team, which marked her formal status as a bra designer. By 1950, Tetos started to design bra's made solely for wearing over the garment.

From 1951, many women started to follow this trend. These women would later be known as Tetosians.

However, her most significant expansion was the creation of the sports bra-top deluxe. This was a regular womens spots bra stitched onto a womens sports top, making it not saggy to the boobs.

Death[edit]

Surviving fragments of Tetos's skeleton (as of 1998)

On June 13, 1962, fragments of Tetos's skeleton and two dead raccoon corpses was discovered in her house. Skull fragments, teeth and metacarpals were recovered. It is not known when she died.

Tetos's house was searched for more bones in 2005. None were found. Also in 2005, a finger probably belonging to Tetos was found inside the stomach of one of the raccoons. This implies that the raccoons may have killed or injured Tetos.

In 2012, Tetos's final residence was knocked down as it was very unstable. In 2018, the rubble was to be cleared but scientists were called in to commence one final search for remains of Tetos's body and belongings. In the rubble, scientists found one of Tetos's decayed teeth with a filling, three Tetosian style bras, a semi-stitch sports bra and a chewed mens sock. DNA on the sock belonged to Techhead, Tetos's husband.
