My Duel with ADD

It all began one day when I realized I could not concentrate. Hmm... Recent Changes... I wanted so badly to dedicate myself to my work and my I'm kinda hungry... ...my... darn it, lost my train of thought. So yeah.

ADD! I hereby challenge thee to a duel! To the death!

ADD lunges for my throat yelling, "NINJAS!"

I grab his wrist and twist him over with a sharp, "I need to graduate!"

He grins at me. "Aren't you hungry?"

I parry his grin with a smirking, "I just ate."

Not to be defeated so quickly, he dances over to IRC, drawing my attention with him.

"NO!" I yell. I avert mine eyes out of reverence. "There's work to be done."

...Needless to say, I'm not perfect, and I falter for a bit. But enraged by this failing, I turn on him, a sword of determination raised.

"Fine," he says. And with that, ADD wipes my mind blank.

...

AAAEEEUUURRGGHHH!! I emerge from the stupor. "I need to do this! Leave me alone!"

"My, it's been quite some time since you checked Recent Changes, hasn't it?"

I hesitate. I want so bad just to look, but I need to beat him, crush him, destroy him.

And then, BAM! It hits me. He feeds off my attention.

I turn my back to him. "I don't care."

"But--"

"I don't care."

"Fine." He skips gayly off.

I know he'll be back, but for now, I have won.

Crap! I still haven't done that work!
