Australian radio metal presenter, Andrew Haug (Triple J, The Racket www.abc.net.au/triplej/racket/ ) making the Slayer cancellation announcement at Sydney's Soundwave Festival 27 February 2011.

All available police in the area were gathered for an impending riot. Media photographers were moved out of the pit and security guards were quietly informing younger fans and females at the barricades to leave the area before the riot.

Other than the unfortunate onslaught of drink containers of every description directed at 'Haugy', Australian metalheads proved they weren't the animals society perceives them to be and the aftermath was incident-free.
