Summary[edit]
Ganesha on an old Indonesia 20000 rupee note. From Times of India Times. Caption:
"Did you know that a picture of Lord Ganesha was inscribed on the 20,000 rupiah note of Indonesia? Isn’t this amazing that there is a country that had the Indian Lord Ganesha inscribed on their currency and it is not India?
"A Twitter user shared the image of the note and brought up the fact. He wrote "The only country on earth to have Lord Ganesha on a currency note is the largest Muslim populated country - Indonesia," Tanuj Garg captioned the post that also accompanied a picture of the note.
"But this currency note is not in use anymore and the new ones does not have the image of Lord Ganesha. But the point of appreciation is that they had been using a currency with an Indian God on it.
"The picture of Lord Ganesha was engraved on the note beside an inscription of Ki Hajar Dewantara - a celebrated Indonesian independence activist. A picture of a classroom was printed behind the note."
